Sometimes less really is more. The District 1 is the purist version without a rack, mudguards or lights and, starting at 12.1 kg, weighs significantly less than the EQ models. It retains the family's most sophisticated drivetrain: a Gates Carbon Drive with an eleven-speed Alfine internally geared hub, which is low-maintenance, clean and can be shifted while stationary. This allows the Premium Alloy frame to take centre stage, while the Schwalbe G-One tyres in 700x40C roll quietly on asphalt. For anyone who rides their bike around town rather than using it for transport, and would rather carry it than load it up.
